The Advisory Board

The Advisory Board is composed of local business and civic leaders.  The Advisory Board is designed to provide the local Salvation Army unit with guidance in its decision making process.  The Advisory Board meets monthly between September and June each year for its regular business meeting.

Advisory Board Member Qualities

  1. A respect for, and an appreciation of, the purposes and objectives of The Salvation Army;
  2. The ability to help The Salvation Army achieve its purposes and objectives;
  3. An interest in the well-being and progressive development of their local community;
  4. A willingness to become actively involved, in terms of time and effort, in working with The Salvation Army to achieve its objectives;
  5. A demonstrated record of successful involvement in the business and civic life of the community;
  6. A willingness to share personal judgments, counsel, and financial resources, as these may be required, in the pursuit of The Salvation Army’s local objectives;
  7. A spirit of advocacy wherever the welfare of The Salvation Army within the community is concerned;
  8. The willingness to advise and counsel the local commanding officer when such support is deemed beneficial and helpful.
