Summer Camps for 2008 Announced

Summer Camps are a wonderful opportunity for kids to learn about nature and God at our beautiful camp near Eatonville, Washington.  The costs and requirements for each camp vary, so you'll want to be close attention to that information.  Click here for the full schedule.

Women's Auxiliary Silver Tea - 5/3/08

This is the signature fund-raising event that has been associated with the Women's Auxiliary since the 1960s.  The proceeds from this event support the on-going work of The Salvation Army in Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater.  The even is sponsored by Olympia Federal Savings.  This year's entertainment will be provided by Entertainment Explosion.  It is expected that the event will sell out this year.  To purchase a ticket(s) please contact Jeannie McConnell at The Salvation Army (352-8596).

Easter Sunday Schedule - 2/23/2008

As we customarily do, the schedule for Easter Sunday is slightly different than usual.  The morning begins with the Sunrise Service at Camp Arnold.  We will leave with Corps Vans at 5:45am.  This year Capt. Rob Reardon, Divisional Youth Secretary will be the speaker.  Right after the sunrise service we will rush back to the corps where we will have a Potluck brunch around 9:45 'ish'.  This will be followed by more fellowship for the adults, while the children partake in the Easter Egg Hunt.  Then at 11:00am we will have our usual morning worship service. 

A Winter Time Tea 2/20/08

The Olympia Corps' Winter Time Tea will be held on Wednesday February 20th, 2008 at 6:30pm.  This is a time to for fellowship and fun.  It is a time of celebration for those already involved in Women's Ministries and is also a good introduction the Women's Ministries for people not currently involved.  If you are interested please call 352-8596 and RSVP with Major Shari Fowler or Major Janet Summerfield.

Youth Programs Re-Start 1/9/08

Our regular youth programs will restart on Wednesday the 9th.  The night begins with dinner at 5:00pm and then continues to Sunbeams for young girls and Creative Ministries for everyone else.  Creative Ministries will be beginning preparations for a musical.

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner 1/29/08    2/12/08

This event honors those who have volunteered for The Salvation Army in 2007.  Guests this year are Majors Barry and Arlene Dooley from Northwest Divisional Headquarters.  We will honor a "Volunteer of the Year" and give out Bell Ringer Awards. The dinner is sponsored by The Salvation Army Advisory Board and includes a small silent auction for gift baskets provided by the same board.

SA Youth Rally - 10/27

Kids who are currently attending our Wednesday night youth programs are eligile to attend the youth rally at Seattle Temple on Saturday 10/27.   Call Bill Simon for details.

Youth Harvest Party - 10/31

For youth programs on 10/31, kids will be treated to a mini-carnival with prizes to include more than just candy. 

Red Kettle Fund Drive - 11/19 - 12/24

Our traditional Red Kettle fund-drive.
